“100 miles is 161km folks, and this course will have you climbing and descending around 10,000m. That’s a good honest effort.” … I think that might be a bit of an understatement.
The Northburn is being held in Cromwell, Central Otago, and could well be the toughest race in New Zealand. With it’s 161km course over dry, hard and rocky terrain, it’s certainly not for the weak! The course is divided into 3 loops, each coming back to the Start/Finish, and has a 48h cutoff. Word of advice: prepare for the weather!
The race is also a UTMB (6pts) and Hardrock100 qualifier.
